Hi,

So you decided to try out our services. Great!

SEATONNET is a non-profit making concern. The service is run by a single volunteer [me] and this is in addition to working on paying projects that allow time, effort and money to be available to keep the service running. We invest heavily to maintain the service so we are really appreciative of the support we get from visitors throughout the summer.

Your enjoyment away from home is our main concern and we will do everything we can to keep the service running and stable during your visit.

So how does the service operate?
Well, it is not so different to being at home except the service has to work over much bigger distances so it can be difficult if you are on the edge of the antennas range, but just a few ground rules to help the service run smoothly.

Firstly, the service runs on a single Broadband MAX ADSL connection and being out in the country we don't get a topnotch signal so, sharing is the problem we all have to deal with.

Please be considerate of other users. If you want to download music or films - this service is not for you. Please note we will block users who repeatedly, or excessively offend. We can suggest some places where you can rent DVD's if it is important to you but, we would rather you didn't use our service for that. Thank you for understanding.

Now, connecting to the service.
It is not that difficult to connect and most have an easy and trouble-free logon but, it can be unreliable where the weather and other conditions break up or defract the signal. (Imagine a handful of beads bouncing off the bonnet of your car and that gives you some idea of the signal problems with caravans, cars and other distractions).

We try to provide you with an 'inside-your-caravan' connection, and many users achieve this. BUT, we cannot account for positioning of trees, hills, caravans, pylons and mobile phone masts  so, in some cases you might need to be outside or closer to an antenna to get your signal up.

Lastly, we provide a FREE access area for those who don't want to pay, or who don't need the full internet connection. This is limited to Seaton based businesses, attractions and entertainment and it is growing all the time.

Please help us to help you and when out and about, tell the businesses you visit that you use the service so they can better understand the feedback and hopefully better support our efforts.

If you have any problems there are plenty of ways to contact me, use them and I will try to help. Please understand if I am working it might delay my response.
